After delivering the Yorkshire Dales resident survey in 2018, Enventure Research was recommissioned in 2023 to provide a representative 1,000-person update and track change over time.

The brief
- The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority carries out regular research to understand residents’ perceptions of the National Park and attitudes towards the Authority.
- Enventure Research delivered the 2018 wave and was recommissioned in 2023.
The approach
- The questionnaire was co-designed with the Authority and retained questions from previous surveys to support trend analysis.
- Research was conducted predominantly by telephone, supplemented by face-to-face interviewing to balance quotas.
- Quotas were set by gender, age, and postcode area.
The outcome
- A sample of 1,000 interviews was achieved.
- Enventure Research carried out detailed analysis including subgroup analysis, thematic coding of open comments, and comparisons with the 2018 survey.
- The findings provided updated evidence to review services and support future planning.
