Consulting residents and stakeholders on Wirral’s future library service

The brief

  • Wirral Council was developing a new Library Strategy to modernise the service, meet local needs, and make best use of available resources.
  • It wanted feedback on several options for the future of the service.

The approach

  • A representative telephone survey, supplemented by face-to-face interviewing, was completed with 900 residents.
  • An open online survey generated 1,123 responses, with paper and Easy Read options also available.
  • Eight focus groups were held with stakeholder groups from across the borough.

The outcome

  • Enventure Research produced comprehensive reporting across all strands of the consultation.
  • The findings provided evidence on future service options and were intended to inform development of the Library Strategy.
