The brief

- Following changes to the Markets Service, the Council recommissioned Enventure Research in 2023 to repeat the work, explore how views had changed, and identify further opportunities to improve the service
The approach
- 800 residents took part in telephone and face-to-face interviewer-led research using quotas for a representative sample
- An open online survey, with a paper option, was promoted to residents, shoppers, and traders and generated 318 responses
- The 2023 questionnaire repeated many questions from the 2021 research so that changes in views could be explored directly
The outcome
- Enventure Research analysed and evaluated the 2023 feedback and produced a comprehensive report
- Results were compared with the 2021 programme to show where perceptions and priorities had changed
- The findings provided updated evidence to support the long-term delivery and improvement of markets across the Wakefield district
