Value to South London Waste PartnershipResident evidence to shape future service specifications across four boroughs
The brief
- The South London Waste Partnership brings together Croydon, Kingston, Merton, and Sutton to provide waste management, street cleaning, and related environmental services.
- Before recommissioning these services, the Partnership wanted residents to be involved in a co-design exercise across all four boroughs.
The approach
- Each borough had a representative telephone and face-to-face survey of 400 residents.
- Open online surveys gave all residents an opportunity to participate, generating between 442 and 2,248 responses in each borough.
- Eight online focus groups, two in each borough, added qualitative depth to the consultation.
The outcome
- Enventure Research produced a dedicated report for each borough, bringing together evidence from the different consultation activities.
- The research identified the issues residents considered most important in relation to waste management and environmental services.
- The findings were designed to inform recommissioning and help ensure future service specifications reflect local needs.
