The brief
- Sandwell Council wanted resident evidence to support budget planning and understand which services mattered most and where spending should be prioritised.
The approach
- Experienced interviewers carried out telephone research using quotas by area, age, gender, ethnic group, and disability.
- Face-to-face interviewing took place on-street and in community groups to reach harder-to-reach residents, with translation support where needed.
- An open online version was also available to all residents.
The outcome
- 1,070 interviewer-led responses and 577 online responses were achieved.
- Enventure Research produced a summary report, detailed written report, and key findings presentation.
- The findings helped the Council consider how to plan spending and deliver services efficiently.
