The project

Turning student member feedback into actionable insight

Repeat research designed to understand a distinct member audience while tracking how experiences and attitudes change.

01

The brief

The RSC wanted a better understanding of its student members so it could provide appropriate opportunities, information, resources and support, encourage meaningful engagement, and help students build a strong foundation for their future careers and progression into professional membership.

02

The approach

We co-designed a repeat online survey exploring student members’ experiences, future career plans, involvement with student societies, RSC membership, communications, and engagement. Questions from previous research were retained where useful so attitudes could be tracked and compared over time.

03

The outcome

The latest programme generated 790 responses, an 8% response rate, and a robust base for detailed statistical analysis. We produced a comprehensive report supported by a concise infographic summary.

  • Deeper understanding of student member perceptions and experiences.
  • Evidence on career plans, engagement, and communication preferences.
  • Practical recommendations to improve the future offer for student members.
Client feedback
