The project

Building a comprehensive picture of workforce pressures

A broad workforce study designed to capture both who works in O&G and the challenges shaping their working lives and future plans.

01

The brief

RCOG wanted comprehensive, up-to-date insight into the composition, experiences, and challenges faced by doctors working in obstetrics and gynaecology across the UK. Enventure Research was commissioned to support questionnaire development, lead the analysis, and report the findings.

02

The approach

We co-designed a questionnaire covering demographics and employment, career development and training, job planning and responsibilities, workplace challenges and wellbeing, provision of abortion care, retirement intentions, and future workforce planning. The survey was hosted online and promoted across RCOG members, lapsed members, and the wider workforce.

03

The outcome

A total of 1,589 valid responses were received from a broad mix of O&G roles, regions, and demographic groups. Enventure Research analysed the findings and produced a comprehensive research report.

  • Current evidence on workforce composition, experiences, and pressures.
  • Insight to help RCOG shape support for the O&G workforce.
  • A stronger evidence base for advocacy on workforce resource and women’s healthcare.
