The project

Understanding the practical and personal effects of a major benefit change

A focused resident survey designed to inform both Peabody’s support offer and its wider policy conversations.

01

The brief

Peabody wanted to understand the experience of residents who had recently become Universal Credit claimants, including the process of applying, household finances, employment, wellbeing, health, and what more could be done to support them.

02

The approach

Enventure Research supported questionnaire development and delivered 450 telephone interviews with recent claimants using experienced IQCS-trained interviewers. Calls were made at different times on weekdays and weekends to help reach residents across a variety of demographics, life stages, and communities.

03

The outcome

Peabody received an anonymised dataset for its own analysis. The research was designed to inform decisions about the services offered around Universal Credit and to provide resident evidence that could support conversations with government and policy makers.

  • 450 telephone interviews with recent Universal Credit claimants
  • Coverage of financial, employment, health, and wellbeing experiences
  • Fieldwork scheduled across different days and times to broaden reach
  • Evidence designed to inform resident support and wider policy discussion
