Benchmarking resident satisfaction for Merton Council

The brief
- Merton Council has used its residents’ survey in its current form since 2017 to track satisfaction with the Council and its services.
- Enventure Research was commissioned to independently deliver the 2024 wave and report on the findings.
The approach
- The questionnaire retained most questions from earlier waves and included Local Government Association national polling questions for benchmarking.
- Face-to-face interviewing used interlocking quotas by age, gender, ethnic group, disability, economic status, and ward.
The outcome
- 1,009 interviews were completed.
- Analysis included subgroup findings, comparisons with previous surveys, and the latest LGA dataset.
- The independent report was designed to support planning and future service delivery across the Council.
- Survey findings were presented to officers and to Council members.
