The project

From research question to practical insight

A focused programme combining scale, depth, and practical evidence for decision-making.

01

The brief

IOSH wanted current evidence on how occupational safety and health professionals viewed the value of professional membership at a time when freely available content, changing careers and retirement were reshaping expectations. The research needed to include current, lapsed, and non-members.

02

The approach

We co-designed a questionnaire with IOSH covering professional membership value, OSH competencies, and attitudes to IOSH. The 10-minute survey was open to all OSH professionals, followed by six focus groups and 14 depth interviews to explore the findings in more depth.

03

The outcome

The survey generated 3,671 responses across current, lapsed, and never-members. We brought the quantitative and qualitative findings together into a comprehensive report, giving IOSH up-to-date evidence on the profession.

  • Proof points to support future member attraction and retention campaigns.
  • Evidence on perceptions of professional membership across different audience groups.
  • A stronger evidence base for future membership strategy and communications.
Client feedback

“We engaged with Enventure Research to help us tackle the challenge of understanding the value of IOSH membership. Their thorough and collaborative approach delivered outputs that not only met the brief, but provided us with a plethora of insight that is forming the basis for both work on our core membership offering, and also member-facing communications.”
