The project

Turning patient feedback into usable evidence for urgent care planning

Independent analysis of a survey conducted across A&E and urgent treatment settings during a period of rapid service change.

01

The brief

NHS Wakefield CCG conducted a patient survey to help plan urgent care services during the COVID-19 pandemic and commissioned Enventure Research to provide independent analysis and reporting of the results.

02

The approach

Paper questionnaires were made available at Dewsbury A&E, Pontefract Urgent Treatment Centre, and Pinderfields A&E. A total of 154 responses were received. Enventure Research analysed the quantitative results and read all open-ended responses, developing a coding frame to categorise the main themes.

03

The outcome

A comprehensive report presented the survey findings and themes from the qualitative feedback. The evidence helped NHS Wakefield CCG understand patients’ experiences and supported further planning and delivery of urgent care services during the pandemic.

  • 154 patient responses across three urgent care sites
  • Independent quantitative analysis
  • Researcher-led coding of open-ended feedback
