The project

Analysing a large patient consultation at neighbourhood level

A high-volume consultation designed to understand when and how patients wanted to access primary care outside standard opening hours.

01

The brief

NHS Wakefield CCG wanted to understand patients’ views and needs regarding access to primary care outside the core practice opening hours of 8am to 6.30pm. Enventure Research was commissioned to host the survey and independently analyse and report the findings.

02

The approach

The CCG designed the questionnaire and Enventure Research hosted it online. Paper copies were made available through GP practices and an accessible online version was created. A total of 8,362 responses were received, 98% online. Analysis included coding large volumes of free-text feedback, demographic subgroup analysis, and breakdowns of closed questions by Primary Care Network.

03

The outcome

A comprehensive report brought together all consultation findings and provided NHS Wakefield CCG with a detailed patient evidence base to inform future decisions on whether and how to extend access to services outside core practice hours.

  • 8,362 responses from patients across Wakefield
  • Online, paper, and accessible response routes
  • Detailed coding of open-ended feedback
  • Analysis by demographic subgroup and Primary Care Network
