The project

Understanding patient experience during rapid changes to primary care

Independent analysis of both quantitative responses and detailed free-text feedback on new ways of accessing GP services.

01

The brief

NHS Wakefield CCG wanted to understand residents’ experiences of using GP services during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the impact of new ways of working and accessing care.

02

The approach

The CCG designed and delivered the online questionnaire and commissioned Enventure Research to independently analyse the responses. Researchers read every open-ended response and developed coding frames based on the themes emerging. Quantitative analysis included relevant subgroup comparisons.

03

The outcome

A comprehensive report highlighted the main findings and gave NHS Wakefield CCG insight into what patients felt had worked well and what could be improved, supporting planning for future primary care delivery.

  • Independent analysis of patient survey feedback
  • Researcher-led coding of every open-ended response
  • Quantitative and subgroup analysis
  • Evidence to inform future primary care service delivery
