The brief
- The GPhC needed stronger evidence on pharmacy professionals' work, training, job satisfaction, professional practice, and future plans.
- The study also provided an opportunity to compare with an earlier 2013 survey.
The approach
- The questionnaire was based on the 2013 study and updated to reflect contemporary pharmacy practice; Enventure reviewed the instrument, piloted it and advised on new question design.
- Every registered pharmacist and pharmacy technician was invited to participate online, supported by reminders and wider promotion.
- 18,394 registrants completed the survey, an overall response rate of 23.1%.
The outcome
- Enventure Research produced comprehensive reporting, separate infographics and an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion report.
- Where possible, findings were compared with 2013 to show change over time.
- The research informed the GPhC's work on regulation, workforce understanding, and the future development of pharmacy services.
