The project

Looking beyond survey measures to understand the workforce

A mixed-method programme combining trend data with qualitative exploration of the issues behind the numbers.

01

The brief

CQI needed a new wave of its regular workforce insights research, covering remuneration, job satisfaction, career progression, and skills gaps. Enventure Research was commissioned to deliver the programme and build on earlier survey questions while also addressing new topics.

02

The approach

We co-designed an online survey with CQI and invited CQI and IRCA members, including a Japanese-language version for Japanese IRCA members. Non-members were also invited. Follow-up qualitative research comprised three focus groups and 15 in-depth interviews with quality professionals and other stakeholders.

03

The outcome

The member survey achieved a 13% response rate. Enventure Research analysed the quantitative and qualitative evidence together and produced a detailed report on the quality workforce.

  • Current evidence on employment, progression, and skills across the profession.
  • Additional qualitative depth explaining the issues behind survey findings.
  • A comprehensive evidence base bringing member and wider workforce perspectives together.
