The project
Adding depth to the annual Index for a priority resident group
A mixed-method extension of Clarion’s annual resident survey focused specifically on younger residents.
01
The brief
Clarion wanted to understand how best to support younger residents, many of whom were experiencing vulnerabilities intensified by cost-of-living pressures. Enventure Research was commissioned to build on the annual Index with research focused on residents aged 18–24.
02
The approach
The quantitative phase repeated the annual Index with a booster sample of younger residents, allowing their responses to be compared with older groups. Across the original Index and booster fieldwork, 180 interviews were completed with residents aged 18–24. Follow-up 30-minute depth interviews then explored the survey findings in greater detail, with recruitment structured to include a broad mix of demographics and circumstances.
03
The outcome
We combined the survey and qualitative evidence in a detailed report, comparing younger residents with older groups and using anonymised interview feedback to explain the quantitative findings. The research provided Clarion with a richer picture of younger residents’ experiences and evidence to help tailor future support.
