The project
Keeping pace with rapid change during the pandemic
A longitudinal programme designed to help Clarion understand how residents were coping as the pandemic unfolded and circumstances changed.
01
The brief
Clarion uses its Index research to understand residents’ lives, experiences, and changing needs. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this became especially important. Enventure Research was commissioned to deliver a dedicated longitudinal programme across four waves so Clarion could stay close to residents’ wellbeing, finances, and wider circumstances throughout a period of rapid change.
02
The approach
We designed the questionnaire with Clarion, retaining key questions from earlier waves so findings could be compared over time while adding new questions relevant to the stage of the pandemic. Fieldwork was delivered by telephone with residents who had taken part previously and agreed to further contact, creating a four-wave dataset that tracked change across the programme, with the 177 interviews completed in the final wave.
03
The outcome
Across the four waves, the research gave Clarion timely evidence on how residents were coping and how their needs were changing. Reporting combined current-wave findings with comparisons over time, helping Clarion keep up to speed with resident wellbeing during the pandemic, identify pressures emerging for different groups, and shape support and service responses.
