The project

Understanding what experienced paralegals need next

A focused qualitative study designed to inform the content and format of future advanced professional development.

01

The brief

CITMA had identified growing demand from senior paralegals for further training and development after the Paralegal Course. It wanted to understand which subjects, knowledge areas and skills would be most useful, and how future content should be delivered.

02

The approach

We recruited participants through an online response form promoted by CITMA and ran two 90-minute online focus groups. The 11 participants represented a mix of employer types, firm sizes, experience levels, and demographic backgrounds. Discussions were digitally recorded and analysed thematically.

03

The outcome

Enventure Research produced a detailed report drawing out common themes and supporting them with anonymised verbatim comments.

  • Evidence on senior paralegals’ career development needs.
  • Ideas for relevant future learning content.
  • Clear feedback on the most appropriate formats for development opportunities.
