The project

Using staff evidence to support a safer housing response

Research focused on how well housing staff were equipped to recognise, respond to, and support people experiencing domestic abuse.

01

The brief

BCP Homes wanted to ensure its provision and service standards for domestic abuse aligned with the criteria for Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance accreditation. Enventure Research was commissioned to survey staff across BCP Homes and Strategic Housing and Partnership to support this work.

02

The approach

The online survey used the DAHA questionnaire, covering staff behaviours, attitudes, needs, and opinions in relation to domestic abuse. Invitations were sent to all relevant staff, with follow-up reminders used to encourage participation.

03

The outcome

The survey received 191 responses, representing a 45% response rate. Enventure Research analysed the findings, including relevant subgroup comparisons, and produced a visual report. The research gave BCP Homes evidence on its current response to domestic abuse and areas where it could better equip staff to intervene early and support residents.

  • 191 staff responses
  • A 45% response rate across the target workforce
  • Analysis by relevant staff subgroups
  • Evidence to identify opportunities to strengthen the service response
