Research to explore attitudes towards RCS England’s future position on assisted dying

Feb 1, 2023

The Royal College of Surgeons has commissioned Enventure Research to conduct an online survey of all UK-based RCS England members to ask what they think the College’s position should be on a change in the law to permit assisted dying in limited circumstances.

The College is currently opposed to assisted dying in all its forms, a position it has held since 2015. It wishes to consult on whether it should remain opposed or move to a position of neutrality.

All RCS England members will be invited to participate in a short online survey, designed to elicit views about this sensitive topic in a fair and balanced way. Enventure Research will provide a detailed analysis of the survey results, the findings of which will feed into the Council’s decision making process.
