Cheltenham Borough Council commissioned Enventure Research to conduct this year’s Resident Survey, which is carried out once every three years to track residents’ attitudes and perceptions over time.
The telephone survey was conducted with a representative sample of Cheltenham residents, with some face-to-face interviews conducted to engage with hard-to-reach residents. The questionnaire was designed by Enventure Research and the Council following a design workshop, and included questions for comparisons and benchmarking, as well as new topics such as the pandemic, perceptions on housing in the borough and the Golden Valley Development.
The research findings were presented to the Council in a cabinet meeting following the production of an infographics report and detailed written report. Findings from this year’s survey have been very positive for the Council, recording improvements since the survey was last carried out in 2019 and similar or higher levels of satisfaction recorded when compared with the LGA’s national benchmarking survey ‘Are you being served?’. These findings will be used to inform the Council’s 2023-27 Corporate Plan, which will be announced early next year.
