In late 2021, Enventure Research supported Barnet Council to deliver a public consultation on property licensing in the borough, which sought residents’ views on the proposed renewal of the Council’s additional licensing scheme and introduction of a new selective licensing scheme which aim to improve housing standards.
Enventure Research was commissioned to undertake independent analysis of the consultation survey results and to moderate three consultation events. These events were held online with residents and tenants, as well as landlords and agents to explore their attitudes and potential impacts of the two proposed schemes.
A comprehensive report was produced for Barnet Council, including detailed analysis of the survey findings and thematic analysis of the qualitative feedback from the consultation events. These findings have subsequently aided the Council in its decision to introduce additional licensing for HMOs in October 2022, and to undertake a further consultation on selective licensing in 2023.
