Fieldwork begins for Blackburn with Darwen resident survey

Oct 17, 2018

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council has recently commissioned Enventure Research to undertake a survey of residents to provide information to support the development of the Council’s new Corporate Plan.

A four-sided questionnaire has been developed by Enventure Research and the council, which aims to glean residents’ opinions about a number of topics, such as what the priorities of the council should be, satisfaction with the local area and council services, frequency of using council services and whether the council provides value for money. The questionnaire has recently been mailed out to a sample of Blackburn with Darwen residents. Enventure Research aim to receive 1,100 responses to the postal questionnaire from a representative sample. In addition to the postal questionnaire, an online version is available and open to all residents to complete. Those who have been sent a postal questionnaire are also invited to complete it online if they would prefer to do so, and are given a unique reference number to enter so that they are included within the representative sample.

Upon completion of the fieldwork, Enventure Research will undertake analysis on the data, including coding of any open-ended responses and analysis of subgroups. A full report will then be written detailing the findings, making sure that results of the representative survey and open online survey are kept separate. As this research will help to inform the Council’s new Corporate Plan, Enventure Research will include actionable and concise conclusions and recommendations based on the residents’ responses.
