Enventure Research has recently undertaken research on behalf of Manchester City Council and Marketing Manchester which explored the impact of the Christmas campaign in Manchester.
A team of experienced interviewing staff surveyed a random sample of 823 visitors to Manchester city centre on-street during December 2014. The questionnaire was developed in partnership between Enventure Research and Manchester City Council and designed to measure visitor satisfaction and the economic impact of the various events taking place in Manchester over the Christmas period.
Where possible, results from the 2014 survey were compared with questions from similar previous years’ surveys. Key findings from the research highlighted that most visitors were either very or fairly satisfied overall with the city centre. Nearly half of those surveyed had visited Manchester specifically to visit the Christmas markets, whilst almost three quarters intended to visit Manchester city centre again. All findings were presented to the Council in a detailed research report and will allow Manchester City Council to build on the knowledge gained from previous years.
