Presenting research on accessibility at the Housing Studies Association Conference

Some of the Enventure Research team recently attended the Housing Studies Association (HSA) Annual Conference in Sheffield, where we presented findings from our research with disabled residents for Clarion Housing.

The three-day conference brought together housing professionals, researchers and academics from across the UK and beyond to explore this year’s theme: Climate, Health and Technology in an Uncertain Future. The conference provided an opportunity to share research, discuss emerging challenges facing the housing sector, and learn from a wide range of perspectives on various issues.

Our presentation focused on a research project involving in-depth interviews with disabled Clarion residents where we explored the accessibility issues they face both within their homes and when accessing Clarion’s services.

Delivered alongside Clarion Housing, the presentation covered the background to the research, key findings from the interviews, and the ways in which the evidence has informed Clarion’s organisational decision-making and strategic priorities aimed at improving accessibility for disabled residents.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the impact of our resident-centred research and contribute to wider conversations about accessibility and inclusion in housing. It was encouraging to see these issues reflected in discussions across the sector, reinforcing the importance of ensuring that residents’ experiences continue to inform policy, service design and decision-making.

If you would like to talk about how we can conduct research with your residents to understand their experiences and inform service improvement, please get in touch.
