The Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), which is the professional body representing quality management practitioners across more than 100 countries, appointed Enventure Research to deliver its regular workforce survey in 2021. This survey aims to gather insight about joining and working in the quality profession, skills gaps and opportunities, perceptions of quality management and the diversity of CQI membership and the wider profession.
The survey was administered online and was translated into Japanese by the IRCA Japanese office. A programme of qualitative research was also carried out with both members and non-members of CQI and IRCA to explore the survey topics in greater depth.
Findings from the survey and qualitative research show that the quality profession needs greater promotion to increase awareness and perceptions of it which could also attract more people to enter the profession at the start of their working life. Detailed findings were presented to the CQI in a comprehensive written report, in addition to an infographics report which outlined the key findings. Both have been published on the CQI website, together with the CQI’s own executive summary.
