Research and insight provided by Enventure Research in 2017 into attitudes, behaviours and motivations relating to physical activity and sport, has been used to inform the development of a successful application to Sport England’s Tackling Inactivity and Economic Disadvantage fund by Wiltshire Council. Following a competitive application process, funding will be used to improve levels of physical activity amongst inactive residents in 10 localities across the county which have high levels of deprivation.
Wiltshire Council Sports Development Manager Paul Pritchard said, “We are grateful to Enventure Research for the initial insight work they provided which we used to inform our application to Sport England. It is clear this work gave us a greater understanding of the target audience and put us in a strong position when evidencing our knowledge of Lower Social Economic Groups and the barriers faced in relation to sport and physical activity. Insight from Enventure Research’s consultation was also used to shape the content of our application and we are delighted to have been awarded funding to test an estate based delivery approach over the next 3 years”.
