Enventure Research has recently undertaken a two-phase online survey of a representative sample of Essex County Council residents regarding their behaviours and attitudes towards waste and recycling.
The survey was designed to evaluate residents’ preferences towards different options for collecting waste and recycling, to understand the perceived importance of recycling and to identify any potential barriers preventing them from recycling.
The survey was hosted securely online by Enventure Research. A representative sample of Essex residents was invited via email to take part in the survey. All respondents were registered with and recruited via an online research panel.
In the first wave of the survey, 700 respondents took part and a representative sample was achieved with regard to gender and age. A week later, those who took part in the initial survey were re-contacted and invited to participate in wave two of the research. In the second wave, 400 responses were achieved.
Following quality checks, the raw survey data was provided to Essex County Council for detailed analysis.
